What is Street Sound Society?
Street Sound Society is a placemaking company that activates public spaces through live street music. We provide three core services: the
Street Sound App for busking zone management,
Cadenza all-weather outdoor pianos for permanent installation, and access to a global network of over 14,000 street musicians through our partnership with
Busk.co. We work with cities, business improvement districts, developers, venues, and transit authorities.
What is busking?
Busking is the act of performing live for a public crowd. It is one of the oldest and most democratic forms of live entertainment. Anyone can busk — pick up an instrument, step outside, perform a little song or dance, and watch the life you bring to a growing audience. Busking transforms passive public spaces into vibrant, memorable places.
How does the Street Sound App work?
The
Street Sound App is an iOS platform that gives cities and districts the tools to run a professional busking program. It includes busking zone designation on an interactive map, performer scheduling, and digital signage capabilities. Administrators can manage where and when performances happen, while keeping the experience spontaneous and welcoming for both performers and audiences.
Is the Street Sound App free?
The Street Sound App is free to download for performers and the public. Cities and organizations interested in using the app's administrative and zone management features should
contact us directly to discuss implementation and pricing for their specific needs.
What cities is the Street Sound App available in?
The Street Sound App is available on the iOS App Store and can be used in any city. We actively partner with municipalities and districts to set up managed busking zones.

What are Cadenza pianos?
Cadenza pianos are all-weather outdoor pianos designed and built for permanent installation in public spaces. They are engineered to withstand rain, snow, heat, and humidity year-round. Cadenza pianos invite anyone — trained musicians and casual passersby alike — to sit down and play, turning parks, plazas, and transit hubs into musical destinations.
Are Cadenza pianos weather-resistant?
Yes. Cadenza pianos are specifically engineered for permanent outdoor use. They are built to withstand all weather conditions including rain, snow, extreme heat, and humidity. They are designed to remain playable and in tune through changing seasons without requiring shelter or covers.
How many Cadenza pianos are installed?
Cadenza pianos are currently installed in five cities across two countries. We are actively expanding to new locations. If you are interested in bringing a Cadenza piano to your city, park, plaza, or transit hub,
contact us to discuss installation.
Who is Busk.co?
Busk.co is the world's largest online community of street musicians, with over 14,000 registered buskers across 137 countries. Street Sound Society partners with Busk.co to connect cities, venues, and developers with vetted, professional street performers. This partnership gives our clients access to a global talent pool for live music programming.

busk.co to connect with our global network and be considered for featured performance opportunities in cities where we operate.
How can my city start a busking program?
Getting started is straightforward.
Contact us through our website and tell us about your city, district, or space. We will walk you through how the Street Sound App can designate busking zones, manage performer scheduling, and deploy digital signage. We handle the technology and artist coordination — your city gets a turnkey live music program.
Do you work with venues and developers?
Yes. We work with real estate developers activating public-facing spaces, venues expanding their programming outdoors, business improvement districts seeking foot traffic and atmosphere, and transit authorities turning stations into cultural experiences. If you manage a space and want it to feel more alive with live music, we are built for you.
How do I contact Street Sound Society?
Is the app available on Android?
The Street Sound App is currently available on iOS. We are evaluating Android development based on demand. If you are interested in an Android version, please

What is placemaking?
Placemaking is the practice of designing and activating public spaces to make them more attractive, engaging, and useful for the people who use them. Street Sound Society specializes in music-based placemaking — using live performances, permanent instruments, and managed busking programs to transform ordinary public spaces into vibrant destinations that draw foot traffic, extend dwell time, and build community identity.
